Jammu and Kashmir authorities have assumed control of 58 schools previously linked to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami and its Falah-e-Aam Trust. The takeover followed intelligence inputs and the expiry of the schools’ management tenures. Officials say the step is meant to protect students’ academic interests while ensuring consistent education standards across the Union Territory.
