India’s antitrust watchdog has upgraded Anheuser-Busch InBev’s role in a cartel probe, moving it from a cooperating witness to a party under investigation. The case began by targeting 42 alcohol retailers in Telangana over alleged exclusion of rivals, and AB InBev was raided in 2024. The brewer then secured a temporary injunction that halted the investigation against it.
