Afcons Infrastructure has emerged as the successful bidder for a major rail project in Croatia, a landmark step into Europe. The contract, worth over 677 million euros, will see the company reconstruct an existing track and build a second line, with civil works, electrification, and signaling included. Afcons says it is its largest international order to date.
Four migrants were found dead near the Slovenia border in Croatia, while two others were rushed to hospital in serious condition, Croatian police said. The group was allegedly transported by truck in “inhumane conditions”. Police also discovered 13 more people near Donje Prilisce, southwest of Zagreb, and moved them to a detention centre.
