Former Mumbai and Baroda cricketer Kiran Powar has been appointed head coach of Assam’s Ranji Trophy team for the 2026-27 domestic season. Powar said he was delighted, citing the Assam Cricket Association’s vision after a prior visit. The appointment marks his first senior-team coaching job, following his experience managing the U-23 Mumbai side.
