Tanmay Shekhar, an IITian and former data scientist in New York, walked away from a high-paying career to chase filmmaking. He bootstrapped his debut by funding the film with community support, then pushed it through a modest theatrical release. The story he built—about privilege and personal transformation—later found a much bigger audience when it landed on Netflix.
