An Airbus C295 landed on the Purvanchal Expressway as part of an Indian Air Force emergency drill, according to reports. The exercise was designed to evaluate whether the expressway could function as an alternative runway during war or national crises, testing readiness and the expressway’s suitability for rapid aircraft operations when conventional airfields may be unavailable.
Pune Airport restarted operations Saturday morning after an Indian Air Force aircraft incident late Friday night led to a runway closure. The runway was cleared and safety checks were completed before flights resumed, with departures restarting at 7:30 am and arrivals at 8:00 am. The disruption was triggered by an undercarriage failure during a fighter jet’s landing.
