Union Cabinet has cleared two new semiconductor manufacturing projects in Gujarat, with combined investment of about Rs 3,936 crore and expected skilled jobs of around 2,230. The Dholera unit targets compound semiconductor fabrication and ATMP for mini and micro LED modules and GaN foundry services, while Surat will host OSAT packaging and testing. The approvals lift India’s sanctioned semiconductor projects to 12, pushing execution beyond announcements.

Crystal Matrix Limited will focus on advanced display components, while Suchi Semicon is set to expand India’s chip manufacturing capacity.
