Eight people were killed in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal district after a vehicle reportedly lost control and plunged about 300 metres into a deep gorge near Nail. Injured passengers were taken to District Hospital Baurari, where doctors said they are receiving treatment and are out of danger. Police and local officials are investigating the crash.
A blast at a firecracker facility in Mundathikode in Kerala’s Thrissur district has left at least six people dead and over 40 feared injured. Firecrackers and raw materials for making them were stored at the site, and the first blast was reported around 3:45 pm. Local authorities are investigating the cause and response.
