The move adds real time imaging capability for surveillance and faster threat assessment. Separately, the Indian Navy tested the Air Droppable Container ADC 150, designed to speed delivery of essential supplies to ships at sea.
The Union Home Ministry has updated how it classifies Left-wing extremism affected districts. With violence declining, the security-related expenditure scheme no longer marks any district as left-wing extremism affected, instead using “districts of concern” and “legacy & thrust” categories to guide funding. The change comes alongside recent operations that neutralized key Maoist leaders.
