Megnad Desai, the eminent economist and former House of Lords member, has died. Born in Vadodara, he taught at the London School of Economics from 1965 to 2003, and in 1992 founded the Centre for the Study of Global Governance. He also directed LSE’s Development Studies Institute, leaving a lasting imprint on development and global policy research.
