The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) is pushing for a 10% compulsory blending target of fermented organic manure (FOM) with chemical fertilizers by 2030. The plan is designed to improve India’s soil health through a phased mandate, gradually integrating FOM into current farming inputs rather than replacing them abruptly.
Industrialist Anand Mahindra praised Naandi Foundation and Urban Farms Co. for driving regenerative, chemical free vegetable farming. Thousands of farmers are moving away from chemical intensive agriculture, and nearly 2,000 have already completed a season without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides while protecting yields and lowering costs. The effort aims to connect urban India through a nationwide regenerative food grid.

APEDA plans to set up India’s first integrated Basmati training and demonstration farm in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. The farm will support both conventional and organic Basmati cultivation, with training and research for farmers. Alongside this, an AI-based survey project for Basmati paddy is being launched to improve understanding and boost agricultural exports.
