West Bengal Board of Primary Education has released TET 2023 results for Class 1 to 5 teacher recruitment. Out of 2.73 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam held in December 2023, fewer than 7,000 qualified—just 2.47 percent. With 13,421 posts up for filling, the board has decided to investigate why the qualification rate was so low.

Kerala has issued fresh K-TET guidelines for school teacher recruitment and promotions after a Supreme Court ruling. The state now requires K-TET for all teachers, removing earlier exemptions linked to higher qualifications. High School teachers must have K-TET Category III to qualify for promotions, while CTET remains accepted for LP and UP posts.
The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) is set to release the SLST 2025 answer keys for teacher recruitment exams soon. Answer keys will be published for classes 9-10 and 11-12 on 16th and 20th of this week. The exams followed a nine-year gap, drawing large participation, including candidates from outside West Bengal.
Bihar’s education department is set to recruit 45,000 more teachers for state schools under the Teachers Recruitment Exam phase four. The plan also includes appointing 7,000 specialized teachers for schools catering to physically challenged students. Alongside these hires, the government is developing model schools in every block to strengthen the state’s education infrastructure.
West Bengal’s Education Minister Bratya Basu said the state will issue a notification to recruit 13,421 primary teachers after Durga Puja. The decision follows the TET 2023 results, in which 6,754 candidates qualified out of 2.73 lakh appearing. The recruitment process is expected to start post-festival.
