BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has served a defamation notice on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann after Mann blamed the BJP for twin blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar. Chugh says the accusations were baseless, demands Mann either provide proof or step down, and asks for withdrawal of the statements and a public apology within seven days.
The NIA is reportedly probing a strong cross-border angle behind the Amritsar and Jalandhar twin blasts in Punjab. Sources claim the attacks were carried out by locally radicalised individuals, but allegedly backed, funded, and directed by handlers operating from abroad on instructions attributed to Pakistan’s ISI. Investigators are working to connect networks and trace communications and funding trails.
